The 2014 GMC Terrain is a compact SUV that comes standard with front-wheel drive and an 182-hp, 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine. A 301-hp, 3.6-liter V6 engine is also available. With high-quality surfaces, flowing lines across the dashboard and a lengthy standard equipment list that includes a 7-inch touchscreen and a rearview camera across the board, the GMC's interior accommodations set it apart from competitors. The Terrain has a cushioned ride, top-notch safety and reliability ratings, and excellent cabin comfort. However, some say the base engine isn't the most powerful in its class, and some rivals are more fun to drive.
The 2014 GMC Terrain is fitted with standard antilock brakes, stability and traction control, front-seat side-impact airbags, side curtain airbags and a rearview camera. Also standard is GM's OnStar emergency communications system, which includes automatic crash notification, an emergency assistance button, remote door unlock, and stolen vehicle assistance.
